In 1999 I was working for a company having offices and subsidiaries in several coutries (Seattle (USA), Dublin (UK), Paris (France), Sydney (Australia), etc.) It would have been too expensive to pay flights tickets for all this staff to attend the weekly meetings. Web based conferencing became evident at this time.

I was a little bit apprehensive about first installing web based conferencing. It wasn't that it was prohibitively expensive or that I didn't think that we could use it, but I was worried about becoming too dependent on the new gadget. You see, we have gotten by without ever having a web based conference for years. As a matter of fact, we had few conference calls at all. I had seen businesses become completely dependent on web based conferencing systems, systems that were complex and sometimes failed. Many of these companies did perfectly well without the technology for a while, but once they got it, they couldn't do without it. I was afraid that if our Web conferencing software went off-line, we would be paralyzed.

Fortunately, we have a top-notch guy in IT working in Seattle. He assured me that the web based video conferencing program that we were using was extremely reliable, and that he would personally take responsibility for ensuring that it worked all the time. That's why I hired him: that willingness to step up to the plate and go the extra mile to make sure that things get done. Although it took a while to set up the web based conferencing software, once he did we were all eager to try it. We set up an experimental meeting with all of the various regional offices. We had a new sales policy and, rather than sending out an e-mail about it, we allowed our sales expert to give a lecture on it.

I was surprised by how much more effective it was. It's no secret that half of the people in the company never read the sales e-mails at all. They figure that they know how to do their jobs well enough without the new jargon and techniques. Once they were actually forced to sit and listen to it, however, I could tell that they were tuning in and picking up some useful tips. They asked intelligent questions that proved that they were listening, and helped illuminate the lesson further.

Since then, we have continued using the web based conferencing on a weekly basis. Most of our most important communication still take place over e-mail or in person, but slowly web-based video conferencing becamea bigger and bigger part of our company. It allowed us to check in on each other more thoroughly and communicate more efficiently, things that can only strengthen the company.

Have you ever used Web Based Conferencing? Do you prefer the solutions such as launching your webcam and a software like Skype?

How long can you live out of the cyberspace? If you're like most people in this modern, Internet-based world, it's probably not very long a week or may be two. This is absolutely not a bad thing. Much of our work is is conducted by computers nowadays. For this reason we constantly find ourselves online typing up documents and sending business emails. Not to mention all that time at home we spend on our computers just for fun. Because you spend so much time on the net, you naturally need an online connection. This web connection is something you can you can count 24 hours a day. Nonetheless, that certainly doesn't mean that it should cost you an harm and a leg every month for web access. Cheap internet access is at your fingertips.

What level of online access do you prefer to get? Many individuals will answer this question with "the best that's available." That's fine, but it doesn't mean that the best is the most expensive. Think along the lines of high-speed cable, DSL and dial-up Internet services. While cable is the fastest and is necessary if you plan on going wireless, it's certainly not the cheapest available internet access. Dial-up is by far the least expensive Internet access in most cases. In fact, you can acquire a simple dial up connection for as little as $10 per month or even less. But did you know that some Internet Service Providers offer DSL almost just as cheap? Yes, You can actually have a stable connection to the web without paying too much.

Start Earning Money Online Today

One well known cheap internet access service is NetZero. This company offers cheap internet access via DSL. They advertise this web service for around 10 dollars a month. If you don't know what DSL is, then let me explain it for you right now. DSL is basically what falls in between dial up and high-speed cable Internet access. With DSL you can stay online all the time, but it's accomplished via a phone line, as opposed to a cable connection. Some people prefer DSL because it's a kind of cheap internet access. Meanwhile, DSL allows you to surf the web whenever you wish and with decent speed that is much faster than dial-up. Before you simply select a company such as NetZero in order to acquire DSL service, investigate other local Internet providers available in your area. There might be an even better package deal currently available.

A cheap web hosting isn't always the best solution for your business. Let's see in this article the reason why... Nowadays more and more people have their own website. If not for business purposes, your friends may have a simple personal website where they can communicate with friends and family, make new friends or just exchange ideas. So how do you go about finding a cheap web hosting site? It all depends on the purpose of your website. If you're trying to do business on the net, you'll probably need to features such as shopping carts, merchant accounts, computer languages to manage your business website.

Do you need to hire someone to design your website in order to make sales? This is not very expensive as soon as you know where to hire someone... But you've got to consider not only price. There's a landmark between price and quality. This is always better to spent extra bucks rather to get an ugly result! Okay you're on your way to create a Business website of your own so cheap web hosting won't fulfill your needs. In certain circumstances, you'll have to pay for a business web hosting if the size of your business is already requiring a professional web hosting. Once again you can always find cheaper but I recommend investing in quality rather than trying to save every dollar you can. If your business is only starting a top 10 hosting is a smart idea to get started. Please don't waste your money! You'll have to opportunity to upgrade your web hosting plan when your business is growing: there's no hurry!

On one hand, if you just want to have a presence on the web, a place where your friends and admirers can stop in and see what you're up to, cheap web hosting may well be the answer. To be completely free to make your website the way you wish, I recommend you to buy a cheap web hosting because web hosting provided from your Internet Service Provider isn't a safe solution. Who knows if you won't change your ISP soon and lose every data you hosted with the Internet Service Provider you're leaving?

Content is King
For personal page needs, many cheap web hosting sites provide a ready template where you can list your profile, pics and a 'friends' list. Some offer message boards and private IM conversations as well. So if your interest is mainly chat and web presence, this can be a good way to go. If you decide to publish your own blog check if your web hosting company offers cpanel it will help you to install WordPress in a few clicks that can't be easier! If you prefer a pure html website you need XsitePro2 the easiest web builder software to make a website, update it or change its appearance.

On the other hand, if your purpose is commercial, cheap hosting may not fill the bill. When selling a product or service, there's nothing worse than setting up your site only to find out, too late, that your web host cannot fulfill your needs. Imagine you're launching an Adwords campaign with the most efficient tips available to discover your website is no more online due to a technical issue... Then, you've simply wasted your money. Don't waste your money with Adwords and don't try to save money at any price.

Free web hosting is risky for a business venture! Don't upset your (almost) customers! They'll be turned off when they can't make a purchase because your host cannot provide the necessary software for you to do business and close the sale. You need to accept Paypal and the major Credit cards and also checks if you wish. The bottom line is that if you're starting a business on the net, you must consult someone technically competent to advise you on what you require to effect sales. If you need to pay a little more, it's well worth the difference. If you're not doing business, then an affordable web hosting is a suitable solution in your case.

Even if you're just looking for a site that makes you available for friends to look you up, check out that cheap web hosting site to see that they provide the services they promise. Go to Google and type, 'scams webhost name'. If the provider has not delivered to other customers, this search will turn up complaints to alert you to a less than desirable web host. Word does get around. When you find a host that is recommended by people you know and doesn't return any results on a scam search, you've probably found a good cheap web hosting site.

In conclusion, if you're not eBay or Amazon a cheap web hosting from the top 10 hosting is really enough for either personal or business purpose.

This article will focus on items to sell on eBay. But if you prefer selling others' merchants products, you just need to stop fast losing time and money because you don't know yet how Affiliate Marketing works and how to become a super affiliate in a few months... My favourite simple and easy method to make money as an affiliate is a step by step approach including one on one coaching and video tutorials. Its main advantage over the competition is to include a 6 months money back guarantee! If you're serious about making money online this is obviously a nice proposal.

It's now time to come back to items to be sold on eBay. And how to find them. Selling items has never been so easy. The Internet has created an explosion of options for those who wish to have their own business, but wish to work from home. For the most part, those who are successful have found products to sell that they can mail out from their own home once they have gotten orders. If you can find the right things to sell, you can have your own business and it might even do very well for you.

Content is KingThere're many ways to sell online, but the most common one is eBay. eBay is with Amazon one of the pioneers of the e-commerce. Those with products to sell can put up countless auctions and then sit back and wait for the bids or orders to come in. Once the winners have paid, the products can go out in the mail. It may seem difficult to believe but some people make a really good living doing this, and it's in part due to choosing the right products to sell. The other part is the choice of the software to build instantly eBay Niche Stores.

You've got several things to consider when you're deciding on products to sell. Start looking around to see what's successful, and then find something along the same lines. You've to do your research. Some products always do well as they're items that most people are using. As an example, many products are always in demand in the beauty industry making fast easy and simple products to sell. Another idea is products related to the kitchen because everyone cooks. Those are just 2 easy things to think about when choosing items to sell online on eBay. You can even think about what you use the most in your own home when deciding.

You also have to take space into consideration. If you're getting your products to sell from a warehouse and you don'’t have to store anything in your house, you can do just about anything. However, most that sell online keep what they have in their home. You have to think about what type of room you have for storage and how to the largest items. This alone can determine or narrow down you list of products to sell. Lastly, remember to choose items for sale that you believe in. If you think the product is a good one, you can sell with confidence and your business will be much better off. Of course like with any other type of business, having good customer service, quick communication, and fully honest business practices also help with success to make your business growing.

Now you have the choice between selling items on eBay or promoting products via affiliation marketing. The choice and the success are all yours if you take action fast.

When you start building your own business saving some money in all possible ways can be critical. This is obviously where downloading and burning your softwares from the editors' websites can help you limiting your expenses. Let's see in this article how to do that...

By chance, there're more than one way to get good software, and the safest is probably going to a store and buying it straight off the shelf. However, because we live in a fast world, there're new and faster ways to get what you want most of the time. You can in most cases buy software online, even if you will not get all you can find in the store. As usual, there're a few cons to this, even when you are getting a good deal. When you're in a hurry, and need something right now or something hard to find, buying software online is probably the very best way to go as long as you know exactly what you're doing.

In this context of buying software online, you only have to download it after you have paid for it. You can usually pay with your credit card or your Paypal account, and that's usually instant. Depending on your Internet connection speed, in most cases this is just a matter of minutes. When you've got a slower speed it might take a while, but it'll still be faster than going to the store. Remember that phone calls can interrupt a dial up connection, so be sure you have it set to stay on when the phone rings so you don't have to start all over again when you buy software online.

Content is KingAs you need to use your credit card when buying software over the Internet, you should make sure you know who you are dealing with when you purchase. With websites such as Adobe, you're safe. If you find something for free, do some research to be sure you are dealing with a good site. Some will give you free software, but they have hidden some goodies inside. Sometimes these programs will come with spyware, and some will even come with viruses that will completely wipe out your computer. Never forget to analyze the software you've just downloaded running your antivirus software. If you wish software for free start looking for open source softwares. Most open source projects are hosted at Sourceforge, IMO this is a good place to start your researches. Another website I recommend you is Open source windows. It will introduce you the open source softwares I use legally for free every day.

The main reason for downloading a software is getting a better price. If you're not comfortable with downloading and burning the software, feel free to buy it online from Amazon or even eBay. It's often possible to make also a good shopping from those popular websites. And you've got a huge advantage with those companies you can feel very confident without any risk!

Last but not least when you buy software online from a site you know, you can be sure you're getting a clean copy of whatever it is that you need.If you want to buy software online, but you aren't sure if the site is secure or trustworthy, type the name of the site into a search engine and go through at least three pages of results to see if anyone has had a problem with them. If you don't find anything negative, and the site is not new, you can be reasonably sure it's safe to buy from them. Just remember that once you buy software online and download it, you will not have a back up CD as you would if you bought it in the store. That means you should burn it in a blank CD to make your own copy so you have it safe if something were to happen to the one you bought. Don't wait to do it, just burn it after you're sure it doesn't contain any virus or spyware. I hope this article provided you with the knowledge and understanding you were looking for.

Writing an ebook can bring you extra income and a little fame too! It's been said that everyone has a book in them, waiting to be written, right from their own experience. For now, you may say, “Oh no. Not me.” Meanwhile, please consider this. Everyone is unique and has knowledge, personal experiences and unique point of views.

If it wasn't true, no one would have any friends. Your friends enjoy your company and conversation because your perspectives are different from theirs, or you know about things they don't. People enjoy learning and exchanging ideas with others. Maybe you're just interesting to your friends.

Are you the person who grew up with lots of pets and learned how to remedy their illnesses from your Dad or grandmother? Did you grow up in poverty and learn everything there is to know about being thrifty? Maybe your parents were travelers and you know all about cultural differences.

Reason #1:
People are curious.

Yes. What seems run of the mill to you is a new and fascinating bit of life that interests a segment of the population.

Whether your experiences have been what you consider ordinary or what others consider exotic, you can be sure there are people everywhere who haven't lived your life. Let's say you're the one who knows all about the natural remedies that cure your pets of ailments the vet says are incurable.

I knew a person who has just this talent, but lacked the confidence to write down her knowledge.
She thought no one would be interested, far from paying to have the benefit of her many years of practice.

No matter how hard I tried to get her to pursue this, she just didn't think it was viable.

Reason #2:
Writing an ebook is a simple.

This is an inexpensive way to share what you know and possibly make a difference in the world.

That prof can turn you on to English majors who can edit and polish your manuscript for a nominal amount of money, and turn out an ebook you can market.
There are lots of software programs which will convert a simple text file to a .pdf format.

That's all it takes to write an ebook.
Start with an outline of your subject of expertise.

Cover the major topics and then fill out each area of sub-topics.
Then start writing.

Reason #3:
Writing an ebook can be profitable.

You can also make a little money by writing an ebook!
You can market your ebook through your own website using PayPal, list your ebook ClickBank network, in advertise through ezines, with excerpts from your ebook, or even list with Amazon.

You may also use some quotes of your ebook in mp3 format to introduce it to your future readers.

To conclude: writing your ebook can be personally rewarding, help others, profitable and show you as an expert in your topic.
Interesting isn't it?

One thing that anyone who has their own site online is worried about is how to

get website traffic.

Though for many, this is essential for business reasons, even those who just have a small personal site want others to stop by and visit.

This is something that has been important since the web became popular with the general public, and it is something that might never change. What does change, however is the ways people draw this traffic to their sites.

When I was first online, I noticed a lot people simple begging others to come visit their sites.
This was how many thought they were going to get website traffic. Granted, back then, no one really knew what to do and how to get people to their sites.
There were many searches, but I can’t seem to remember if Google was around then or not.

I do know that it was hard to find what you were looking for most times, and the begging for

website traffic

couldn’t last long. It was very annoying and even the people doing it knew it.
There are still some that do it, but most people have taken a different approach.

Today, people go about finding

website traffic

in much different ways.
Some still visit forums and post links to their sites, and this does work well on a small scale. However if you are looking for huge website traffic numbers, you are going to have to do something else. One thing is advertising, and some like to do this.

Google’s Adsense program is a good one.
This uses the keywords in content to place relevant ads on the site. Some drive in traffic simply by using the right keywords.

For a few months I use Keyword Country to detect the best keywords related to my content to build traffic from Top Paying Keywords. There are tons of keywords tools but this one gets my preference as it helped me to increase my Adsense income and my websites traffic in less than 1 month by 75 %.

No matter how you go about getting website traffic, you can keep tabs on who is visiting by getting software that tracks visitors. You will not see names and addresses, of course, but you can see city, state, and country, and you can also see how long they were there and what pages they visited. This can help you decide who is coming, and what is working on your site and what is being skipped over.

This will help tailor any site to what the visitor wants. Even though you are not getting any personal information about these people, make sure they do not know they are being tracked. They may think the worst, even though you aren’t getting anything other than basic activity information.

When they get what they want, they are more likely to come back.

Before 1999, I didn't know that there were 2 different types of e-mail.
I was browsing forums that were having a lot of problems with trolls.

Trolls are people who come to forums looking to make trouble, and have nothing constructive to add to any conversation.
When there're trolls on a forum, the forum moderator does everything possible to push them out of the forum more often banning their IP address or the accounts login/password they use there.

This is clearly the kind of online job I'll hate...
I remember one member suggested that anyone with web based e-mail be banned from the site.
What bothered me about this was that I realized that I had signed up for that site with a web based e-mail.

Even if my Internet Service Provider offered me an e-mail address, I rarely used it.
I prefer using for my online correspondence a few web based e-mails.

Why?
The reason is simple.
I'm free to change my ISP if another one makes me a more attractive offer without losing my contacts and access to my mailbox.

My contacts won't appreciate to receive notifications from Mr or Mrs Mailer Daemon telling them my email address is nor more valid because I've just changed for a new Internet Service Provider.

It was simply a matter of common sense that keeping the same web based e-mail address was much easier and more convenient for me.
If you have had to change your e-mail address on a regular basis, you know how boring it is.

Since 1999, I experimented a few hard disks crash so from that bad experience I heard how smart is not toput all your eggs in the same basket.
In my opinion, it's better to use a web based email hosting solutions and also a software to copy your emails in your hard disk.

In this case if you find a web connection, you can consult your new emails.
If you wish to read offline, just launch your favourite program (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.)

But, there's one problem left with web-based e-mail. If you have any type of business online you want to have an e-mail address that is either related to your site, or that is through your Internet service provider.

Some people won’t take you seriously if he uses type of e-mail for any type of business reason.
It doesn't sound very pro.

In such cases I recommend you to pay a few bucks per month (less than $7) to host your website and get free professional email accounts.

Even the domain name is included.
It will cost you less money than paying for a dedicated email hosting web.

Indeed, it only depends on the size of your company.

There are so many people out there who use web-based e-mail for things that are not exactly legitimate.
You may notice that some of the spam e-mail you get in your e-mail box comes from web-based e-mail addresses.

However, web based e-mail is generally free, and very useful. I use Gmail and Yahoo, and I have used them for years.

Not only is it reliable, it has changed sometimes.
They do not rely on keeping customers by staying the same.

No matter what type of web-based e-mail you choose, you may find that even if you have e-mail through your Internet service provider, you want to have at least one of these e-mail addresses.

This means that even if you move you have to change your other e-mail addresses you will always have one that remains the same.

Could you just imagine during one minute how we could live nowadays without Wireless connections to the Internet? Figure it out through the business but also the personal use to realize how it became a part of our lives.

I suppose it's safe to say that the World-Wide-Web has come along way since it began in the 1990s. We're no longer grappling with the annoying dial-up process. Nor do we have to surrender our telephones just to surf the web. DSL, high-speed cable and wireless Internet service have changed the game completely. Today we enjoy our PCs and Macs all day, any time we please without the old-school hassles. Most likely you're enjoying yours as we speak. Welcome to the new and exciting time of convenient Internet without all the wires.

It's not surprising in any way to enter a coffee shop and see patrons sipping on a cup of java, while surfing the web or getting some daily work done. This is the norm in the world we currently inhabit. I first discovered this convenience in a Starbuck Coffee but now it's everywhere from the USA to Europe in most public places or popular restaurants. Most often you can use a WiFi access for at least 15 minutes at no cost.

And it's all thanks to wireless Internet service. Just look for the sticker on any eatery, business, or hotel that states WIFI. This tells you that they offer wireless Internet service to their patrons/customers. Who'd have ever expected such a bizarre service in the past? Now days we thrive on it. Some folks don't even bother with cafes and coffee houses that lack wireless Internet service. They go there with the intention of being online while lounging in a calm atmosphere with fine cup of joe. Personally I prefer the high-speed Internet access I have at home. Nothing is quieter than my own house. Furthermore, I doubt you can find a public venue that offers a higher level of comfort. Try lounging on your personal deck with a compact notebook computer in-hand. That's living!

If you're not sold on wireless Internet service, let me fill you in on what makes it so ideal. The freedom of course. Imagine surfing through cyberspace without the wires cluttering up your desk and getting in the way. Just you and your laptop. Take it upstairs to the bedroom, relax on the patio, find a comfortable spot in the living room; it's totally up to you. Having the web at your fingertips without all the irksome wires is truly a benefit. Now we can actually enjoy our online experience with wireless Internet service.

For many people, the Internet has opened up a whole new world. The web is a place to meet new people, find some great information, entertain yourself, and do many other things, it also became a place to do business. Many people like to find things to sell on the Internet. This can be done through eBay, which is very common, or you can find many other ways to do this. One great way is to have your own web site, and try to draw customers in through Internet advertising.

What you want to sell on the Internet is up to you. If you have a business in your home or in your community, you can always expand to the Internet. You can sell things online that you can sell anywhere. You'll have to rely on shipping companies in order to get your product around the world, but when you sell on the Internet, you have opened up a whole new world of possibilities for yourself and your business. You don'’t even have to sell things online, as you can sell many other things that do not require shipping.

The other things that you can sell on the Internet are your talents. If you are a writer or a photographer, there're many, many people online who need your work. Websites rely on content to draw in people, and also to provide the information that people are looking for every day. People also need photographs to go along with this content. If you want to sell on the Internet, you simply have to look for freelance opportunities. There're many out there, and if you give it enough time, you can have a great career working exclusively online.

Remember that in order to sell on the Internet, you have to advertise just as you would if you were to sell from a retail store. Another great way to get your business noticed by the online public is to have
Traffic Keywords rich content on your web site. When you want to sell on the Internet you have to be creative about your advertising, and you also have to make sure your customer satisfaction is high. Complaints in a retail store may harm your business a little, but it only takes one horrible review from an Internet user to tank your business. Make sure you take care of your customer, as well as you would take care of yourself, and you should have no problem finding a market online for whatever it is that you wish to do.

You know how we redundantly complain about the traffic we encounter on the Interstate in the morning and after work? Well imagine that times 100 or maybe even a million. While we all deal with the daily pile-ups on the way home from work, it only involves who lives in our area. Imagine how terrible it would be if it involved the entire planet. Now that would be one serious traffic jam, and you can bet there would be countless fits of road rage. Well, lucky for us, we don't have to battle that kind of traffic in the physical world. Now, Internet traffic is an entirely different story.

Websites love tons of traffic. They want as much as they can possibly accumulate. Traffic is wonderful for them because it either means more business or more web-surfers clicking on ads. Ad clicking often means revenue earned via advertisers. If you know what you're doing with this stuff, you can really generate a chunk of change off it.

I'll be the first to admit that often Internet traffic really ticks me off. Maybe they should call that cyber-rage. Anyway, like me, you've surely been on the web at times and had difficulty surfing from one site to another. This may concern your actual online connection, or more likely it involves the current Internet traffic. You know, all the other web-surfers who're online with you. I typically encounter this sluggish mess when I'm checking my email. You've got to love Gmail. Now, I really shouldn't complain, because this is a totally free service. But yet it's still annoying to get on Google and not be able to check my email account. I will say that this overload of Internet traffic generally happens when folks are getting off work or primarily on Saturday.

So the next time you're surfing net-land and notice your computer being sluggish, you can assume it's the overload of fellow cyber nuts. Even if there's room for everyone in cyberspace, things do tend to get a bit slower when we're all crammed in together. Just don't get upset and toss your expensive laptop out the window in a fit of rage. You'll need it later to check your email.

- some you may have already thought about... and the others -

The world of business and money-making as we once knew it has changed. In general, I would say most work related changes are bad, since they typically are. However, I speak of a positive change that involves the World-Wide-Web and the potential for endless business and profit. Whether you've given it much thought or not, there're limitless online business opportunities. Everyone that ever wanted or dreamt of starting a business of their own can now make that concept a reality. Thanks to the incomparable Internet, you no longer have to continue working for "the man" on someone else's time clock for mere pennies.

Countless Americans are pondering online business opportunities. Ever since cyberspace took over in the 1990s, individuals have been craving a personal business, or job that they're in charge of. Of course we all want to be our own bosses, own our own companies, set our own hours, and decide how much we make. Talk about a utopia. Well, this dream is no longer out of your grasp. If you don't care to take my word for it, just take a quick gander at all of the businesses found in cyberspace. Who knows how many of them actually exist at this point. For some independently/self employed individuals this has been an awesome opportunity. Imagine how much more you could make with online business opportunities, as opposed to a store in your town or city. This is what we name with a very powerful image: the sky is the limit! Suddenly the entire world is able to view your products or services. This naturally means a lot more business for you. A close friend of mine runs an online knife shop and makes an utter killing selling high quality cutlery around the globe. Furthermore, since it's an

online business

, he doesn't have to drive anywhere for work, and his garage became his storage facility. That means no venue rental or purchasing and no commuting expenses. How much more ideal could you possibly get. He works completely from home.

There's a wide variety of

online business opportunities

for all kinds of people. I don't care if you bake desserts, write resumes, build custom furniture, or refurbish computers, you can make a killing by bringing your business to the Internet. When it comes to the web, possibilities are endless.

Online shoppers, home based workers, self-employed persons have at least one thing in common when using a computer connected to the Internet: they've to be careful to protect their identity and credit card data from online-robbers. It seems that there're more headaches with identity theft nowadays than ever before. Could it be our constant connection with the Internet? Just maybe things are crawling into your personal files that you never invited. Yeah, it's certainly a scary thought. Maybe it's time you asked yourself, what am I doing to prevent identity theft? You should know that there're certain preventive measures you can take in order to stay safe. The truth is we all need protection from identity theft, because it's impossible to keep up with who might snatch our personal information.

Consider a few preventative steps. Number one is to guard your social security number with your life. Now I'm not telling you to die for it literally, but you get the general idea. Most people do not need this information. Sure, you'll use it a great deal in college, and maybe a few times after when you purchase a home or vehicle. Maybe take out a life insurance policy. But in general it's not necessary to reveal, and I'd seriously question those who request it. Another step you can take for protection from identity theft is to avoid random scams. Most likely you've encountered some of these by email before. Maybe they tell you that you've won some kind of lottery or something unbelievable. Don't take the bait! It's clearly too good to be true. How can you win something if you haven't played any sweepstakes or lottery? You should always be sure to shred your personal mail/documents. Destroy it and don't allow others to get their hands on it. They could ruin your credit if they do. Always keep your financial information to yourself. If you're going to buy online, I suggest you get a credit card that supplies you with a specific online number. This helps prevent against others getting access to your real card number.

Get a credit report! You can acquire one of these online for free. Find out what's currently up with your credit standing. You've to check these things on occasion. Someone could have already blemished your credit without you even knowing. And always be certain to protect your personal computer from viruses and spyware. Don't let hackers slip in and steal your information. Finally, make sure you stop pre-approved credit card pitches. Someone else could get their hands on this and go shopping. When in doubt, ask oodles of questions regarding any pitch or purchase. These measures will help with protection from identity theft. Last advice: when you receive an email from ebay, paypal or your bank asking you to connect to your account for any purpose check it carefully. In most cases it'll be an attempt from online robbers to steal your informations and use them at their profit. Don't click the link, this is phishing. If you have any doubt contact ebay, paypal or your bank by phone and report them this email.

When you're dead broke, it's hard to maintain good judgment when someone tells you that they know how to make extra money. You might know that whatever making extra money spiel they have is nothing but a get rich quick scheme, but part of you wants to believe it anyway. After all, people get lucky right? You might be down on your luck, working for minimum wage in a gas station, but this cannot be all that life has in store for you, can it? Maybe whatever particular sales man you're coming across, be it in the want ads or on the Internet, has just what you need to help you in your quest for making extra money. There's nothing quite as scary as being flat broke, and most people will take any out that they think they can.

Nevertheless, it's important to maintain your skepticism. Most people look for a quick solution to making extra money, and this makes them vulnerable to being even more exploited than they're in the present job! Don't ever believe, follow or buy any method to become rich effortless or in a few days. Every business building needs time, efforts and money!

It's so easy to think that you'll find your way to making extra money through some crackpot Internet investment scheme. If you try hard enough, you might convince yourself that this one is the one! Whether it's selling domain names, stuffing envelopes, or some kind of pyramid scheme, you might just fall for it even if you already know that these kind of things never help you in making extra money. After all, when it's getting near the end of the month and rent is due, it might just feel like this is your last chance.

The greatest obstacle to making extra money that most people face is not that they have not run into that million to one special chance, but that they have lost most of their self-confidence. When everything is working out for you, it's easy to hustle for an even better job. You have this belief that you can succeed in anything, and that making extra money will be nothing difficult for you to do. When you're at the bottom of the totem pole, however, and are absolutely desperate for any method of making extra money known to man, it's paradoxically much more difficult to keep your hopes up. When you get down on yourself people will see your lack of self-confidence, and your dreams of making extra money get just that much further away.

In the last 15 years, the Internet has opened many opportunities for people to earn money at home. It has also opened many opportunities for con-artists to come into our homes. When looking at deals and opportunities on the Internet it's important to make sure that you're dealing with reputable people and companies prior to giving out too much personal information. I remember a friend of mine who tried last year to start a business out of her home.

She had seen so many advertisements on the internet as well as the television about making money from home by being your own boss that she thought that this seemed like an interesting thing to look into. She did a search on general business opportunity seekers to see where she would be lead. Her very first search produced several thousands hits. Of course, she knew that not all of the business opportunity seekers could possibly be legitimate. But the problem she had to face at this moment was: she didn't know how to begin to sort through the vast numbers.

She opened a few sights and read about various opportunities for home base businesses. Some of the sites seemed like they were very well done and professional and others looked like they were put together by a third grader. She could not believe that there were sites that were proclaiming to be looking for serious business opportunity seekers, yet they had many misspelled words as well as wording that did not make sense.

A few clues to detect a serious online company to work for:

  • the website copyright is updated © 2006 or anything else than 2007 won't appear very pro
  • the sales page must provide the major possible payments methods such as major credit cards, PayPal, checks and why not money orders
  • ideally they may pay you once or twice a month after you reached a minimum amount
  • if you pay to join them (in most cases less than $100) they MUST have a refund policy for at least 1 month, more time to test the opportunity is of course always better
  • that company may be able to produce testimonies on demand
She knew that she would not waste her time putting her personal information into these sites. She did find a sight that seemed very legitimate. There was a survey form to fill out regarding what type of home based business the person was looking for. It also asked your permission to turn over your personal information to several companies so that you could be given additional information. The survey asked for the best time to contact and also asked for her telephone number.

Her husband was leery of having their telephone number out on the internet, but she filled out the survey form and hoped for the best. She was contacted by four companies that have legitimate businesses through the internet. One in particular offered a great deal of support from other business owners as well as a product that was on the market for several years and well backed by the company. There were several business opportunity seekers that had already joined the company and she was given there contact information to discuss the business with them. She decided that this would be a good business to become involved with. She hasn't gotten rich, but she's making enough money to stay at home and still help her to pay bills.
