I decided to see if Michael's videos live up to their promise by trying them out myself. Here's what I found:

Overall Quality

The first thing I noticed when I opened up the first video was the stunning production quality. He used Camtasia Studio for the production, which is now the industry standard for creating high-quality screen capture video products. The audio is near studio quality, and the graphics are very professional. These videos were made by someone who KNOWS what he's doing. Well done!
I also liked how Michael divided the videos up by section, and then again by sub-section. For example, one video is all about the subject line, and then there are different parts of that video that each cover a certain area of crafting a killer subject line. Now let's move onto...

The Actual Videos

Here's a brief summary of each video. Obviously it's impossible to list every single thing here, but I want you to get a feel for what each one covered, and how well it covered it. If you're in a hurry, just go ahead visit this URL to get instant free access to these videos: http://www.emailpromosexposed.com/?thankyou-page=111320

Video 1 - Introduction

This video served as an introduction to the whole course. You get to see a picture of Michael in his every day life, and he establishes his credibility right up front by talking about some of his massive successes online. He even provides proof of credibility by displaying two checks in the amount of $50,000 and $25,000 which prove that, when it comes to the subject of making money with email promos, he knows his stuff. This is a good lesson for anyone to get. Whenever you're teaching people how to do something, it's good to establish your credibility up front, so that there's no doubt about whether or not you're qualified to talk about the subject. Most product developers either skip or minimize this step.

Video 2 - Before YOU Write The Promo

This video talks about some things that no other marketer has bothered to mention. You'll learn things like:

  • The mindset you need in order to write a killer promo.
  • The different tools you need before you get started.
  • How to keep your emails laser-focused.
  • How to create an outline that practically writes the email for you.
This was a fantastic video, and did a good job of kicking things off.

Video 3 - The Subject Line

I liked this video, because it talked about one of MY biggest weaknesses when it comes to writing email promos... the subject line. The subject line is a confusing topic, because nobody's 100% sure what the best tactics are.
Michael breaks it down, and reveals:
  • The biggest secret for writing a subject line that makes people insanely curious.
  • Techniques for personalizing the subject line.
  • Mistakes to avoid when using personalization.
I was surprised to find that I was making some of the mistakes that Michael mentioned in this video, but now I know better.

Video 4 - The Opening

This is where a lot of people slack off when writing their emails. Michael talks about how important it is to create an opening that is conversational, and then reveals techniques and examples on how to do that. He also reveals:
  • How to get people to keep reading your email once they've opened it.
  • How to make your opening interesting.
  • Mistakes to avoid when creating your first few paragraphs.
Video 5 - The Body Copy

This is one of the "meatiest" portions of the course, because it reveals techniques that are not widely discussed on the forums, blogs, and in most eBooks. He talks about the importance of keeping your body copy tight and relevant, and then reveals how you can do that. You'll also learn:
  • How to write powerful bullets that make people curious and want to find out more.
  • Simple formatting tricks for making your body copy easy to read.
  • The secret of "bucket brigade copy" and how to use it in your email promos to force people to keep reading.
Video 6 - The Call To Action

This is where a lot of people wimp out in their email promos. They start out strong, but when it comes time to ask the reader to click the link and take action, they don't know what to say. Michael talks about some of his favorite techniques for making that happen, and also reveals:
  • The "magic question" to ask yourself that will make your close much more powerful.
  • The secret of the "unanswered question" and why handling this is a surefire way to get people to act right away.
  • The structure of a powerful close.
  • Mistakes people make when creating their close.
Video 7 - Creating an Effective P.S.

Some people say that the P.S. is one of the most important parts of the email, because it is often the one thing that gets people to click the link at the end. In this video, Michael talks about:
  • Why you should including a P.S. at the end of your email.
  • The 4 different kinds of P.S.'s you can use (this section was a real eye-opener for me).
Video 8 - Common Mistakes People Make

I loved this video, because it showed me some mistakes that I was making that I wasn't even aware of. Unless you're a seasoned pro, you're probably guilty of some of the things that Michael talks about in this video as well, and that's why it's so valuable. I've shaved years off my learning curve, because now I can avoid some of the costly mistakes that I was bound to make in the learning process.

Video 9 - How to Create Follow-up Email Promotions

This video alone is going to make me a lot of money. Why? Because I used to only send out one email promo for each affiliate promotion I was doing. Michael showed me in this video how important it is to send a follow-up promotion, and he showed me exactly how to do it. He covered things like:
  • The psychology of follow-up emails' promotions.
  • The 2 main types of follow-up promos that make the most money.
  • How to overcome readers' objections in your follow up emails.
  • The 2 most common mistakes people make when writing follow-ups and how to avoid them.
Video 10 - How to Write Back End Email Promotions

Every marketing guru out there says that the REAL money is on the back end. I'd have to agree with them, but the problem is... most people have no idea how to set up a back end system that makes money. This video will teach you how to set up an automated back end that's loaded with killer promos that make you lots of cash on autopilot. He reveals things like:
  • The big difference between regular and back end email promos.
  • How to prepare a back end promotion sequence.
  • Common mistakes people make when creating back end email promos.
Video 11 - Creating Affiliate Email Promotions

This could be the most important video of the entire package for a lot of people, because most people email their list to promote other people's products as an affiliate. Let's face it, if you only have 3 products, can you really afford to only email your list 3 times a year? They'll get bored hearing about the same old products over and over again. This video sheds some light on how to create killer affiliate promos. Michael reveals things like:
  • The two main types of affiliate promos.
  • What makes affiliate promos different than regular promos (and why ignoring this huge secret could cost you big money).
  • Michael's favorite tactics for creating affiliate promos that no one else is doing.
  • 3 different ways to add scarcity to your affiliate promos (this is the most important section of the video, so make sure you watch it over and over again).
Conclusion

As you can see, Email Promos Exposed really packs a lot of punch! Most of the courses out there offer only watered down, weak content. Not this one! These videos are going on my "A-list" for a long time. I've already watched them twice, and plan on reviewing them every couple months to make sure that I have the principals, techniques and tactics burned into my mind.

If email marketing is an important part of your business (and in my opinion, it's the most important part of ANY online business), then you owe it to yourself to check out Michael's exciting new videos, Email Promos Exposed. Tell a Friend

Most of the people I know who had to send their first newsletter had the same question in mind: do I have to write a plain test email or send an HTML email instead?

A plain old text email isn't flashy, but it certainly gets your message over the net in minutes. When you're using email to share information between you and your friend, the text email is the most efficient solution. On the other hand, if you're marketing products or services, an HTML email does look nice. It appears more professionnal to your readers. The difference between text and HTML emails is much like going to get a sub sandwich with your sister and meeting a potential new client. HTML emails are indisputably more visually attractive, but even in business, there're situations which are best served with the plain text email. Let's take a look at the pros and cons of each type.

When you're marketing a product or service on your website and you keep in touch with your potential customers via an e-newsletter, you'll usually want to give your readers a choice between a text edition and the HTML version. Depending on your content, your readers may actually file your e-newsletters faithfully, right in a folder dedicated to your site. These people find your information so valuable, that they want to store your e-newsletter permanently, on their PC, as a reference resource. These readers often prefer a text version, simply in the interest of disk space.

On the other hand, if your site promotes artwork, food or nursery plants, the majority of your readers may prefer the HTML email version. Visuals can whet the appetite for products of this type far better than a text message. A text message including details of the exotic orchid hybrid, won't get you many sales. The same email, with images and an attractively formatted page serves as an instant reminder to your potential customer. Your click-through ratio will whip the pants off the return you get on the plain text email. If you don't feel comfortable with building HTML newsletters, you can always hire someone to make this task for you. If you're a true entrepeneur who wishes to master every possible task before outsourcing it, you may at least give it a try. Use free newsletter html templates available online

When your HTML email is an e-newsletter, be careful in designing your colors and layout. In order for your readers to make an immediate association with your company, a consistent look is essential. Match the color scheme to your website for easy identification. Your readers have to identify at first sight the origin of the email. The newsletter sender must not be confusing and contain of course your domain name. The most efficient sender name is many cases is newsletter@yourdomainname.com it is this way easy to identify.

For business applications, always give your readers an option between text and HTML communications. Let them decide which serves them best. For personal email formats, the disk space issue is not a major concern. It's fun to make your own HTML layouts, just as you might design your own stationery. You can create HTML email templates for every member of your family and friends, if you like. By the way, this is a very cheap way to personalize your messages!

So there you have the pros and cons. HTML emails can bring sales and are by far the most attractive. Text emails do have their place. I recommend you to contact your audience as soon as they subscribe to your newsletter. This time is for sure the best one to invite them to add your newsletter email address in their contacts also called white list. One good timing to send a newsletter is more often on a monthly basis.

It's up to you to send more (less will be risky for your business relationship) if you've got an insane offer to make to your readers. But never ever forget your newslettter has to be first of all informative and useful. If not you'll have an incredible ratio of people unsubscribing your communication. Dedicated newsletters tools are available online at a reasonable price, it's a good idea to use them rather than reinvinting the wheel. Keep focused on your business!

To hire someone visit e-places to create newsletter html templates for you or pay someone to produce html newsletters.

Before 1999, I didn't know that there were 2 different types of e-mail.
I was browsing forums that were having a lot of problems with trolls.

Trolls are people who come to forums looking to make trouble, and have nothing constructive to add to any conversation.
When there're trolls on a forum, the forum moderator does everything possible to push them out of the forum more often banning their IP address or the accounts login/password they use there.

This is clearly the kind of online job I'll hate...
I remember one member suggested that anyone with web based e-mail be banned from the site.
What bothered me about this was that I realized that I had signed up for that site with a web based e-mail.

Even if my Internet Service Provider offered me an e-mail address, I rarely used it.
I prefer using for my online correspondence a few web based e-mails.

Why?
The reason is simple.
I'm free to change my ISP if another one makes me a more attractive offer without losing my contacts and access to my mailbox.

My contacts won't appreciate to receive notifications from Mr or Mrs Mailer Daemon telling them my email address is nor more valid because I've just changed for a new Internet Service Provider.

It was simply a matter of common sense that keeping the same web based e-mail address was much easier and more convenient for me.
If you have had to change your e-mail address on a regular basis, you know how boring it is.

Since 1999, I experimented a few hard disks crash so from that bad experience I heard how smart is not toput all your eggs in the same basket.
In my opinion, it's better to use a web based email hosting solutions and also a software to copy your emails in your hard disk.

In this case if you find a web connection, you can consult your new emails.
If you wish to read offline, just launch your favourite program (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.)

But, there's one problem left with web-based e-mail. If you have any type of business online you want to have an e-mail address that is either related to your site, or that is through your Internet service provider.

Some people won’t take you seriously if he uses type of e-mail for any type of business reason.
It doesn't sound very pro.

In such cases I recommend you to pay a few bucks per month (less than $7) to host your website and get free professional email accounts.

Even the domain name is included.
It will cost you less money than paying for a dedicated email hosting web.

Indeed, it only depends on the size of your company.

There are so many people out there who use web-based e-mail for things that are not exactly legitimate.
You may notice that some of the spam e-mail you get in your e-mail box comes from web-based e-mail addresses.

However, web based e-mail is generally free, and very useful. I use Gmail and Yahoo, and I have used them for years.

Not only is it reliable, it has changed sometimes.
They do not rely on keeping customers by staying the same.

No matter what type of web-based e-mail you choose, you may find that even if you have e-mail through your Internet service provider, you want to have at least one of these e-mail addresses.

This means that even if you move you have to change your other e-mail addresses you will always have one that remains the same.

You know how we redundantly complain about the traffic we encounter on the Interstate in the morning and after work? Well imagine that times 100 or maybe even a million. While we all deal with the daily pile-ups on the way home from work, it only involves who lives in our area. Imagine how terrible it would be if it involved the entire planet. Now that would be one serious traffic jam, and you can bet there would be countless fits of road rage. Well, lucky for us, we don't have to battle that kind of traffic in the physical world. Now, Internet traffic is an entirely different story.

Websites love tons of traffic. They want as much as they can possibly accumulate. Traffic is wonderful for them because it either means more business or more web-surfers clicking on ads. Ad clicking often means revenue earned via advertisers. If you know what you're doing with this stuff, you can really generate a chunk of change off it.

I'll be the first to admit that often Internet traffic really ticks me off. Maybe they should call that cyber-rage. Anyway, like me, you've surely been on the web at times and had difficulty surfing from one site to another. This may concern your actual online connection, or more likely it involves the current Internet traffic. You know, all the other web-surfers who're online with you. I typically encounter this sluggish mess when I'm checking my email. You've got to love Gmail. Now, I really shouldn't complain, because this is a totally free service. But yet it's still annoying to get on Google and not be able to check my email account. I will say that this overload of Internet traffic generally happens when folks are getting off work or primarily on Saturday.

So the next time you're surfing net-land and notice your computer being sluggish, you can assume it's the overload of fellow cyber nuts. Even if there's room for everyone in cyberspace, things do tend to get a bit slower when we're all crammed in together. Just don't get upset and toss your expensive laptop out the window in a fit of rage. You'll need it later to check your email.

Online shoppers, home based workers, self-employed persons have at least one thing in common when using a computer connected to the Internet: they've to be careful to protect their identity and credit card data from online-robbers. It seems that there're more headaches with identity theft nowadays than ever before. Could it be our constant connection with the Internet? Just maybe things are crawling into your personal files that you never invited. Yeah, it's certainly a scary thought. Maybe it's time you asked yourself, what am I doing to prevent identity theft? You should know that there're certain preventive measures you can take in order to stay safe. The truth is we all need protection from identity theft, because it's impossible to keep up with who might snatch our personal information.

Consider a few preventative steps. Number one is to guard your social security number with your life. Now I'm not telling you to die for it literally, but you get the general idea. Most people do not need this information. Sure, you'll use it a great deal in college, and maybe a few times after when you purchase a home or vehicle. Maybe take out a life insurance policy. But in general it's not necessary to reveal, and I'd seriously question those who request it. Another step you can take for protection from identity theft is to avoid random scams. Most likely you've encountered some of these by email before. Maybe they tell you that you've won some kind of lottery or something unbelievable. Don't take the bait! It's clearly too good to be true. How can you win something if you haven't played any sweepstakes or lottery? You should always be sure to shred your personal mail/documents. Destroy it and don't allow others to get their hands on it. They could ruin your credit if they do. Always keep your financial information to yourself. If you're going to buy online, I suggest you get a credit card that supplies you with a specific online number. This helps prevent against others getting access to your real card number.

Get a credit report! You can acquire one of these online for free. Find out what's currently up with your credit standing. You've to check these things on occasion. Someone could have already blemished your credit without you even knowing. And always be certain to protect your personal computer from viruses and spyware. Don't let hackers slip in and steal your information. Finally, make sure you stop pre-approved credit card pitches. Someone else could get their hands on this and go shopping. When in doubt, ask oodles of questions regarding any pitch or purchase. These measures will help with protection from identity theft. Last advice: when you receive an email from ebay, paypal or your bank asking you to connect to your account for any purpose check it carefully. In most cases it'll be an attempt from online robbers to steal your informations and use them at their profit. Don't click the link, this is phishing. If you have any doubt contact ebay, paypal or your bank by phone and report them this email.
