For those you ignore who Jennifer Ledbetter aka PotPieGirl is, I recommend you to read One Week Marketing. In many ways this post involves tips and good practices taught by Jernnifer in her best seller One Week Marketing.
I use this product every week and appreciate reading PotPieGirl's newsletter [1]. On her blog I found this post " Should we boycott squidoo part 2? " where I thought I should add my 2 cents.
Prior to my answer what is behind the word boycott: this action to refuse unfair products or services appeared in 1880 in Ireland. Charles Cunningham Boycott the estate agent of a landlord faced a protestation from farmers he refused a discount in their rents. He not only refused but also fired them from the land. Instead of being violent everyone in the locality refused to trade or work with him. Boycott soon felt isolated. Everyone in the fields or the house refused to work again for him. Businessmen stopped to make money with him. Even the postman stopped delivering his mail.
From this time boycott became an action of preparing isolation of a company. So let's now explore that question: Should we boycott squidoo?
You have to play by the rules.
When I get the info about the new rules applicable on squidoo, for sure that was like thunder. Why? because my very first OWM campaign was health related (How to cure ...).
;o(
Obviously it has to be experienced like a new challenge.
What kind of challenge then?
- Thinking and Acting differently
- why not promote something different from ClickBank usual best
sellers (make money / how to cure / etc.) there are some categories that now should worth an extra look. - why not promote something from another Affiliate network (physical
products may be) from ShareASale, LinkShare, etc. - why not watch something different from CB market place to get some
inspiration (Msn, AffiliateNicheClub - as you suggested -, Dmoz, eBay,
...)
That's true:
Baby steps make you feel so much better than thinking you're unable to achieve a Great-Huge-Long-Term-Goal.
Learning from the OWM plan is already IMO a sort of useful step to get
enough experience and later on make some money on the way.
The main advantages it has compared to other products is:
- it is splitted in several days / tasks to follow
- was tested by Nick T. to see if it could work for anyone
- was writen by someone who recently ignored what an upload is (ha ha
ha: you made some much improvments since this time!).
Example: give yourself as many opportunities (pages / articles / blog
posts / lenses / ...) as possible to cumulate $5-10 at the end of the month.
You'll feel in an encouraging mood.
Little by little you'll walk along the path to financial Freedom where spending a few thousands bucks in a one week cruise is no more a kind of madness.
As we say "an image worth a thousand words" so why not print out an image
of your next little step and stick it on your wall? That way you'll visualize your next (easy) goal to be reached?
I remember PPG you do the same with sentences for inspiration...
;o)
